How do I choose a proposal?
If you like a proposal, OK it, by pressing the Power button.
The most popular proposal at the deadline wins the commission.
When does a successful candidate receive my ?
Your chosen candidate receives your only if they deliver what they set out in their pitch.
If they don't deliver on their commitment, the project is recorded as a miss on the candidate's record. It is totally normal to have few missed projects of course, but over time it gives a helpful indication of what their specialities are.
How long are the proposal contests?
Proposal deadlines depend on the scope of your project.
For a local contest the proposal deadline is 6 months after it is first posted. That means your community has 6 months to grow the reward, and candidates have 6 months to submit their proposals.
The deadlines for each level of proposal contest are as follows:
- Local: 6 months contest
- Regional: 12 months contest
- National: 2 years contest
- Global: 2.5 years contest
How is a candidate appointed to the task?
When the proposal deadline is reached the proposal with the most popular support is awarded the contract.
The candidate then has 1 month to accept the contract and get appointed to their chosen role. If they are not elected to their role or cannot take on the contract for any other reason, the contract passes to the next most popular candidate. If no other candidates exist the project is reopened to a new proposal deadline.
How long does the candidate have to deliver?
The candidate has the length of their period in office or double the contest length to deliver - whichever is shorter.
Maximum delivery deadlines are as follows:
- Local: 1 year to deliver
- Regional: 2 years to deliver
- National: 4 years to deliver
- Global: 5 years to deliver
If successful, how is the candidate rewarded?
If the candidate delivers before the end of the delivery deadline then all thumbs-ups from all the supporters of the project are added to their profile.
If the candidate is unsuccessful what happens?
If more than 10% of supporters mark the task as undelivered at the end of the delivery deadline the project is recorded as a miss on the candidate's profile. The contest is then automatically reopened to new proposals.
